Important information
Strict requirements
A medical and ophthalmological examination is required. An ophthalmological report is required according to the German Federal Regulations on Ophthalmology (FeV), which is more stringent than for Class B.
Professional driver qualification (BKrFQG)
Anyone who wants to drive commercially also needs a basic qualification (IHK examination) and regular further training (every 5 years).
Accelerated initial qualification
It is possible to complete the basic qualification in 140 hours (instead of 280 hours) if you choose accelerated training.
Joint acquisition of C-CE or C1-C1E
If intended to get both licenses together, the number of additives materials and special trips increases.
Rewrite
Holders of an old Class 2 driving license (before 1999) automatically have Class C. A conversion is only necessary for the new EU card driving license, not for the driving license itself.
